What an incredible night at the Embassy Theatre!

Seeing SWITCHES in the hands of so many readers was a moment I will never forget. Every conversation, every smile, every person who stopped to learn about the story, and everyone who purchased or showed support for my book made this night special.

As an independent author, you spend countless hours creating something without knowing exactly where the journey will take you. To stand inside the historic Embassy Theatre and watch people pick up SWITCHES, look through it, ask questions, take pictures, and support my work was an amazing feeling.

To everyone who showed love to SWITCHES — THANK YOU.

Your encouragement means more than you know. These photographs capture a night of excitement, gratitude, and another important chapter in the journey of SWITCHES.

How I Wrote Switches

Every story has a beginning, and SWITCHES is no different.

The idea for SWITCHES came from wanting to tell a suspenseful story that blended mystery, fear, and psychological tension. I wanted readers to experience a world where every decision has consequences and where the past refuses to stay buried.

Writing this novel took time, patience, and many revisions. Some scenes changed completely before I was satisfied, while others stayed almost exactly as I first imagined them.

One of my goals was to create characters that readers would remember long after they finished the last page. I wanted the story to keep people guessing and leave them thinking about it afterward.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my writing. I hope SWITCHES takes you on a journey you'll never forget.

NOW I KNOW WHY I KEEP GETTING THOSE FUNNY WEIRD LOOKS!!!!

CARRIE LOUISE

For thirty-one years she avoided them.

The Class of 1995 had become a distant memory filled with whispers, laughter, and humiliation. Carrie Louise Johnson had spent decades convincing herself she didn't need any of them.

Then the invitation arrived.

"PROM NIGHT REUNION 2026"

At first she threw it in the trash.

But then came Marcus.

An old classmate who tracked her down through social media.

"You should come."

Carrie laughed.

"They'll laugh at me."

"No they won't."

"Look at me, Marcus. I'm not the girl they remember."

Marcus smiled.

"You're still beautiful, Carrie. Nobody's laughing anymore. We're all old now."

Against her better judgment, she agreed.

The ballroom was beautiful.

Music played.

Old classmates hugged.

Pictures were taken.

For the first time in her life, Carrie began to relax.

Maybe Marcus was right.

Maybe she had worried for nothing.

Hours later the awards ceremony began.

"And the award for Most Likely to Have Succeeded..."

The announcer paused.

"Carrie Louise Johnson!"

The room erupted in applause.

Shocked, Carrie slowly walked to the stage.

She accepted her flowers.

Tears filled her eyes.

For once in her life she felt accepted.

She returned to her seat.

Then it happened.

A woman from across the table suddenly reached out.

With one quick motion she yanked the hairpiece from Carrie's head.

The room fell silent.

For half a second.

Then came the laughter.

A few chuckles.

Then more.

Then the entire room.

Carrie sat frozen.

Her face red.

Her hands trembling.

The laughter echoed through the ballroom.

Then every light bulb exploded.

POP.

POP.

POP.

POP.

Darkness swallowed the room.

The music stopped.

The doors slammed shut.

CLICK.

The laughter died instantly.

People rushed for the exits.

Locked.

Every one of them.

The emergency lights flickered red.

Carrie slowly rose from her chair.

Her eyes never leaving the crowd.

The room temperature seemed to drop.

A chandelier above began to sway.

One by one the classmates backed away.

Carrie lifted her head.

Her voice was calm.

Far too calm.

"You had thirty-one years to be decent people."

Silence.

"You had one night to leave the past alone."

The emergency lights flickered again.

Then she smiled.

A smile that made everyone in the room wish they had never come.

"Looks like Prom Night isn't over yet."

The doors rattled violently.

Something moved in the shadows.

And suddenly everyone understood.

They were trapped.

And Carrie wasn't the victim anymore.

Demons Keep You Away From Me Because I Know the Truth of Their Existence

By Conscious

There is one thing the kingdom of darkness does not want people to understand: its existence. If Satan can convince the world that demons are nothing more than myths, symbols, or imaginary beings, then their influence can continue unnoticed.

The Scriptures teach that our greatest battle is not merely against flesh and blood. It is a spiritual war.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
— Ephesians 6:12

Many people dismiss this verse while witnessing hatred, envy, violence, addiction, deception, greed, and division spreading throughout the earth. The Bible repeatedly teaches that an unseen spiritual conflict exists behind the visible world.

Because I openly speak about demons, spiritual warfare, repentance, and the Kingdom of Yah, many people become uncomfortable. Whether that reaction comes from skepticism, disagreement, fear, or something else, conversations about the unseen realm often cause people to turn away.

Truth has never been popular.

The prophets were rejected.

Yahshua was rejected.

The apostles were mocked, beaten, imprisoned, and persecuted.

Darkness has always resisted light.

"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."
— John 3:19

The adversary does not need people to openly worship evil to accomplish his work. Sometimes all he needs is distraction, pride, lust, covetousness, anger, bitterness, deception, or unbelief. His greatest victories often happen when people never recognize the spiritual battle surrounding them.

The Scriptures warn us:

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."
— 1 Peter 5:8

Whether the attack comes through temptation, discouragement, deception, fear, or compromise, the servants of Yah are called to answer with prayer, wisdom, obedience, and unwavering faith.

This is why I continue speaking about spiritual warfare—not to glorify demons, but to point people toward Yah, whose authority is greater than every principality and power.

The Scriptures declare:

"Submit yourselves therefore to Yah. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
(James 4:7 — adapted with "Yah" in place of "God" for consistency with the name used in this article.)

No servant of Yah should live in fear of demons. Our eyes belong on Yah, His Word, His promises, and His righteousness. The enemy's power is limited, but Yah's authority is eternal.

If my words cause even one person to search the Scriptures more diligently, then this message has accomplished its purpose. Every believer should examine the Scriptures and test every teaching against the written Word.

My message is simple:

Repent.

Seek Yah.

Believe on Yahshua.

Walk in righteousness.

Put on the whole armor of Yah.

Stand firm in the faith.

The battle is real.

The adversary is real.

But the victory belongs to Yah.

"Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world."
— 1 John 4:4

May Yah strengthen those who seek Him, open the eyes of those searching for truth, and give His people discernment to stand firm until the end.
